Project Spectrum - Orange is for April

Here's a shot of my PS project for April. I've got the top done and joined. I need to pick up the stitches for the body now and knit away. There are a few techinical problems that I may have to deal with, but I think I am just fretting for no reason. It's just that the last bag that I knit on the fly didn't turn out. I'm a little more cautious now.

Yesterday I spent part of the day with my friend M in the park practicing Kung Fu. It was really fun. The sun was out, but it wasn't warm so I kept my hooded sweatshirt on, hood up and tied with sunglasses. No, I don't think I quite looked like the unibomber, but I wanted a badass look. Afterall, it's not easy to spar with M, even slowly because I feel like a munchkin. He has about 5 inches and 100 pounds on me. I mean come on, look at this:

what did that tree ever do to him?

J/K! He's a sweet, sweet person and fellow knitter. Check out his work on the Ithaca Stitch'N Bitch blog.

And in case you're wondering which character on the Muppets you have an affinity for, I offer you this test which I found on Lainie's blog today:

You Are Animal

A complete lunatic, you're operating on 100% animal instincts.
You thrive on uncontrolled energy, and you're downright scary.
But you sure can beat a good drum.
"Kill! Kill!"

Which park is that? I'm thinking is the one that I can't remember the name of down by the lake sort of just off the Commons-ish..

I love the picture of your orange project. The colors just look so *warm* in that light.

I love that orange - so rich and glowing!

Is the park Stewart or Cass?

Glad to read that things are going better. Spring around here seems to lift everyone's hearts. I know it's working on mine!

The park is Cass park. /VM, it's across the inlet from downtown.

Thanks for comments on the picture gals. The coffee shop where I took it, (Gimme Coffee, has lovely organge walls. I think that added to warmness.

Cool Spectrum project - I think it's ironic that of all the color to pick from for my namesake, it's the two I look the grossest in! lol

You should never name a Winter complextion "April"! lol - nyah, just kidding, I like my name.

That tree will have it's revenge, just wait and see, wha ha ha ha! =)

OH YEAH! I'm Animal, too! I posted it a hundrend years ago, but it's there somewhere hehehehe

yumm - what a great orange - I forget, what are you making with this one?
and as for the kick-practice... well, I'd be the one just hanging back and watching :-) I bet you made a wonderful "badass"

The muppet in you also matches your PS project. Coincidence??? I love orange btw. My fave.

Hey, thanks so much for leaving a comment on my blog! And now that you've done so, I'm able to blogstalk ya back...muhahahaha!

Ha, that is ironic, April. If I had to chose a muppet for you that would be the one!

Teyani - I'm going to make a felted bag, buttonhole style. You know it's funny, there was a 2-3 grade lacrosse practice in the neighboring fields that day and a couple of the kids from my school were there. One of the moms approached me this week wondering what the heck I had been doing.

Ladylinoleum - you do the absolute coolest crochet on the net! Every time I visit your blog I am always amazed.

M sent me over to your blog. I'm very sorry about your recent troubles, but the incredible colors splayed all over this page tell me that you have the energy and character to make it through.

That said, I also wanted to say I LOVE the colors you choose. And M always was good at beating up those trees....
